The design starts with a pure white finish on an acoustically transparent micromesh tissue that fully wraps the panel. It's bonded to a 20mm layer of 6lb per cubic foot high-density glass wool. Sound waves pass through the tissue into the wool, making the glass fibers vibrate and absorb sound energy. Then, the acoustic panel is laminated to a 13mm layer of heavy gypsum board, adding sound-blocking mass to stop sound from traveling between rooms through the air space above the panels.
Designed for easy retrofit into existing T-Bar systems, ThunderTiles come in 24x24 and 24x48 panel sizes. Choose a space-saving 'trim' edge for flush-mounting or the'reveal' edge in the 24x24 size for a sculpted look. They're finished in Absolute White for great reflectance and can be painted too. Cutting for fixtures and speakers is a breeze. And unlike cheap mineral wool tiles, ThunderTiles won't sag due to moisture, making them perfect for areas with changing temps and humidity.
The ThunderTile meets strict ASTM-E84 fire and smoke requirements for Class-A/1 designation, safe for any place.
