Focusrite RedNet MP8R: The Ultimate 8-Channel Dante Network Mic Preamplifier and A/D Converter
The RedNet MP8R is a game-changer in the world of audio equipment. It's an 8-channel remote-controlled microphone preamplifier and A/D converter for the Dante audio-over-IP network. Developed from the RedNet 4 studio remote-controlled microphone preamp, it incorporates input from leading live sound practitioners, making it perfect for live sound/recording and broadcast environments where reliability is crucial.
• Dual Ethernet ports with multiple operating modes for flexibility.
• Two separate power supplies with fault detection for peace of mind.
• Rugged exterior and high build quality for on-the-go use.
The MP8R preamps are the latest in Focusrite's award-winning designs, offering lower noise and great dynamic range. With features like a 28dBu maximum input level, 20dB pad, high-pass filter, polarity inversion, and phantom power, it gives you the flexibility you need. Each preamp has a dual input impedance of 10k or 2.4k, allowing for easy parallel operation.
Its gain tracking ability is a standout feature for live sound. It appears as a 16-channel device on the network, with the first eight channels being direct preamp feeds and the remaining eight automatically DSP level-compensated outputs. This enables seamless setups like monitor/FOH in the digital domain.
You can control the preamps in various ways, including via RedNet Control software, Pro Tools, MIDI, and OCA. The front panel also offers 6-segment level metering, numeric gain display, and other indicators for comprehensive monitoring.
Following the mic pres are eight channels of Focusrite's legendary high-precision A/D converters, operating at up to 192kHz/24-bit with minimum latency and top-notch dynamic range and performance.
The MP8R works seamlessly with any other Dante audio-over-IP network components. Patching and interconnection can be managed with Dante control software, while RedNet Control offers comprehensive remote mic pre operation.
